Yogurt is a healthy snack for young and old, but if you buy a lot of the individually sized containers, the price can add up. Many stores offer yogurt in one quart containers. Unfortunately, the flavors are usually more limited, with perhaps only plain, vanilla, strawberry and mixed berry offered. If more people started buying them, though, perhaps the manufacturers would expand the selection. The small sizes offer the convenience of being packable, but you could easily transfer yogurt from the larger sizes to your own portable container.
If you buy plain or vanilla yogurt, you can flavor it with jam, chopped fruit or a little honey. Even cheaper than buying the large tubs of yogurt would be to make your own. That way you will have complete control of the ingredients. Another advantage of making your own, or at least buying the larger packages of yogurt, would be that you are contributing less waste.
