Get a High Yield Savings Account
Online savings accounts pay a much higher rate of interest than your typical bank. If you have a lot of money sitting in a zero interest account, you’re missing out
I use ING Direct. I can link my ING account to my other accounts, making it easy to transfer money in and out. Their website works great, and my deposits are FDIC insured, meaning that my money is as safe as in any bank.
Invest Regularly
Invest regularly in a diversified portfolio of stocks, ETFs and mutual funds. I like low cost index funds. I use Scottrade, Vanguard. and Fidelity for my IRA.
